What You'll Do:

As the Director of Maintenance, you and your team will own 24-hour accountability for all aspects of building and grounds maintenance, esthetics and cleanliness. Your expertise in facility maintenance and team leadership will help ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant and cost-effective health care to all guests at the center.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the physical plant, mechanically and structurally, inside and out Develop and maintains facility's Emergency Preparedness Plan

  • Recruit, hire, train, reward and discipline maintenance technicians. May also oversee housekeeping and/or laundry personnel

  • Develop and maintain department schedules and the work of maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers

  • Regularly inspect building and grounds to ensure proper repair, cleanliness, and quality of services

  • Maintain plumbing systems, boilers and burners, heat and hot water systems

  • Plan for new electrical equipment installations and maintain existing equipment

  • Apply federal, state and local, safety, sanitary and health codes for plumbing, electrical and building systems

  • Apply federal, state and local fire codes including the NFPA 101 code for health care facilities

  • Place orders for necessary supplies within the departmental budget, process incoming merchandise, and prepare invoices for approval and payment

What You'll Bring:

 

Qualifications of a Director of Maintenance include:

  • Trade School Graduate and/or License Journeyman Mechanic preferred
  • 5+ years in Plant Engineering and/or Skilled Trade
  • 3+ years in institutional housekeeping and laundry services (if applicable)
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct in all aspects of maintenance operations
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities including the ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be available for emergencies during off-duty hours
  • Ability to cost out future replacement costs, read and interpret blueprints, and write specifications
