What You Will Do:

You will function primarily as a Fulltime Interim Director of Nursing and/or advisor, in any Connecticut center owned and operated by NHCA, with a typical assignment length of 3 months. When you're not acting as a Director of Nursing, you're working with the regional clinical consulting team on special projects e.g. implementing new care delivery models, clinical programming. You may sometimes be asked to take part in the regional Mock Survey Team.

 

Candidates must reside in the state of CT or near the CT state border and possess a current CT RN License in good standing.

On assignment, specific duties may include all or some of the following:

  • Direct the coordination of all nursing services
  • Act as liaison between the Administrator and nursing services administration
  • Review inspection reports with the Administrator retrospectively to institute a plan of correction as required.
  • Assist Administrator with ongoing updating and review of nursing policies and procedures to assure continued quality of care
  • Maintain professional contacts within the local community. Represent the facility to residents and their families.
  • Ensure that nursing requirements for licensure and accreditation are maintained.
  • Documents all professional licenses
  • Calculate staffing levels for nursing services department as required by the State of Connecticut Public Health Code

What You Will Need:

  • 3+ years as a Director of Nursing, in a for-profit skilled nursing facility required
  • 1+ years as a Regional Director of Clinical Operations preferred
  • A willingness to travel around the state of CT based upon your interim facility assignment
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, co-workers, and facility staff
  • Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment
  • Willingness to be on call as necessary
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of CT
  • CPR certified
  • Understanding of Medicare guidelines
