What You'll Do:

 

Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Corporate Director of Clinical Dietitians oversees and evaluates the implementation of nutrition policies and procedures across National Health Care Associates (NHCA) 45 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining current nutritional standards, and providing guidance and orientation registered dieticians and other healthcare staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:


OVERSIGHT AND EVALUATION:

1. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of nutrition policies and procedures across
the organization.
2. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
3. Participate in mock surveys, develop plans of correction, and monitor compliance.
4. Interview prospective dieticians.
5. Provide orientation for newly hired dieticians.
6. Provide guidance and support to registered dieticians and other healthcare staff
regarding nutrition-related matters.


MENU PLANNING AND ANALYSIS:
1. Plan and analyze menus for various diets, including regular, altered textures,
medical, and religious diets.
2. Collaborate with external vendor regarding meal planning
3. Collaborate with operational team regarding meal cost and budget allowance.
4. Evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition plans and adjust as needed.


PATIENT EDUCATION AND COUNSELING:
1. Develop nutrition education and counseling resources for center dieticians to utilize.
2. Develop and implement educational materials on healthy eating habits and disease
prevention.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into person-centered care plans.


QUALITY ASSURANCE PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT (QAPI)
1. Participate in QAPI initiatives related to nutrition services.
2. Monitor and evaluate the quality of food service operations.
3. Make recommendations for improvements to nutrition programs and policies.


LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
1. Supervise a team of dieticians and other nutrition staff and provide feedback to
center Administrators.
2. Develop and implement training programs.
3. Represent the nutrition department at meetings and conferences.
4. Present educational training to organizational leaders at regional meetings.
5. Conduct bi-annual regional meetings for dieticians and food service directors.
6. Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

 

Qualifications:

 

1. Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification.
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in dietetics or a related field.
3. Experience in long-term care.
4. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
5. Knowledge of nutrition principles, food science, and dietary guidelines.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Experience in menu planning, food service operations, and quality improvement.
8. Must be able to communicate in English and can follow verbal and written
instructions.
9. Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
10. Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the
position/assignment.
11.Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to skilled nursing centers
in the states of operation: CT, ME, NH, MA, NY, VT.
